I am ashamed of myself

Most of the things that made me older and maturer I am beginning to forgoe. All of the "neat" and "hip" technologies that I thought were reserved for suburban teenage girls to ensemble and talk about Justin Timberlake, well, I now have them.

* I am on www.facebook.com, so I invite you, be my friend.

* I have AOL Instant Messenger, my screen name is esqwir1.

In addition to that, I have multiple e-mail addresses (3 hotmails that I check frequently, 1 Yahoo and 1 AOL which I do not check at all and my Young Democrats of America account); 2 cell phones, this blog and my website. Too much technology!

Another Oscar Winning Performance

Even though I will unabashedly claim Mos Def as the most talented brother in hip-hop (he sings, he acts, he is a poet and he raps). However, you can not take anything from brother Jamiee Foxx. View this performance of his, he is a funny guy, like me.

This is courtesy of my friend Greg Stewart.

Not the usual blogpost.

If I ever run for President of the United States I can guarantee a win in two states. My home state of Illinois and Pennyslvania. What makes me so confident about Pa? Anyone who knows me, knows I am the biggest Pittsburgh Steelers fan in the world. Maybe not as big as the guy who got funeralized in a Steelers shrine but pretty close! So, this weekend, who will I root for, my true friends know. But who do you think will win?

Good story.

This story is probably not true but I like the way it ends.

This took place on a BA (British Airways) flight between Johannesburg and London. A white woman, about 50 years old, was seated next to a black man. Obviously disturbed by this, she called the air Hostess. "Madam, what is the matter," the hostess asked. "You obviously do not see it then?" she responded. "You >placed me next to a black man. I do not agree to sit next to someone from such a repugnant group. Give me an alternative seat."Be calm please," the hostess replied. "Almost all the places on this flight are taken. I will go to see if another place is available." The Hostess went away and then came back a few minutes later. "Madam, just as I thought, there are no other available seats in the Economy class. I spoke to the captain and he informed me that there is also no seat in the business class. All the same, we still have one place in the first class." Before the woman could say anything, the hostess continued: "It is not usual for our company to permit someone from the economy class to sit in the first class. However, given the circumstances, the captain feels that it would be scandalous to make someone sit next to someone so disgusting."She turned to the black man, and said, "Therefore, Sir, if you would like to, please collect your hand luggage, a seat awaits you in first class." At that moment, the other passengers who were shocked by what they had just witnessed stood up and applauded. This is a true story. If you are against racism, please send this message to all your friends; please do not delete it without sending it to at least one person.

I forgot one

Ms. Emily Robinson, an outstanding 1L at John Marshall would appreciate all of your help and well wishes too.

Don't be a whiner

Actually, allow me to thank some special people for material and emotional support through this ordeal.

First and foremost, my mother, she will always be my bedrock.

My friends Yvette W., Nicholas G. and Lindsey D. have all offered materials and counseling regarding this process, which they all have traveled themselves. I thank them all greatly!

Law School Update!

Good News: I have not gone insane!

Bad News: I probably will go insane in a few days!

Tomorrow concludes my first semster of instruction at the University of Illinois College of Law. Beginning Tuesday, December 6, 2005 I take my first Final-Criminal Law. Allow me to give you my Finals schedule so you may pray for me at the appropriate time.

December 6, 2005 8:30 am Criminal Law

December 9, 2005 1:30 pm Torts

December 13, 2005 8:30 am Property

December 16, 2005 8:30 am Contracts

I'll be honest with you I am apprehensive. I am not scared, because I am from the South Side and I am not scared of much! However, law school is a feat unlike any other.

I have other friends at other schools, they are 1L's too. Keep them in your well wishes too.

Greg "Whitefolks" University of Miami
Alysha Northern Illinois University
Audrey IIT-Kent
Kouri Southern Illinois University
Veronica University of Texas

I enjoy law school, I really like my classmates, I like my Professors and I like the mental challenge of the Socratic method and in class discussions. But I know I will not like the exam period!
